What do we teach during lessons? We start with the basics of kicking and blowing bubbles, then progress to swimming under water and teaching the strokes. The goal for beginners is to learn how to swim to the wall unassisted. For more advanced swimmers, the goal is to teach them proper stroke technique for all 4 strokes. We alter our teaching depending on the skill level and goals of each individual child. When are lessons offered? Lessons are offered all year (when the weather permits!) Monday-Friday, 8:30am-6:30pm and Saturday 8:30am-2pm. How much do lessons cost? Please call or email us at (305) 284-4713 or hurricaneaquatics@gmail.com for full pricing information. Are there discounts for multiple children from the same family? Yes! We offer a 20% discount for additional children from the same family. How to I register my child? Registration can be done over the phone, via email, or in person at the University of Miami Hurricane Aquatics office. (entrance to the office is located upstairs. Turn left upon entering the pool deck and there will be a door with a Hurricane Aquatics sign). How do I cancel a lesson if needed? Please call the Hurricane Aquatics office at least 2 hours prior to the lesson. There will be an opportunity to reschedule for a later date. Failure to show up for a lesson without notification will not be refunded or rescheduled. For group lessons, does Hurricane Aquatics organize the groups or will I need to? Currently, Hurricane Aquatics does not organize the groups. Are there just two instructors? No. There are two head instructors along with 5 additional instructors to make lesson times more available. How can I pay? Hurricane Aquatics accepts cash, check, and credit cards Discover, Visa or MasterCard. If I have additional questions, who do I contact?
