FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - SWIM CAMP
Who can attend Swim Camp?
The camp is for children age 5-12. Every camper must be comfortable swimming in water depths that exceed his or her height!
What are the dates for Swim Camp?
Swim Camp starts the first full week in June and continues through the end of July. The camp runs Monday-Friday from 8:45am to 3:30pm. Camper Care is available before and after the camp day at an additional charge. Camp does NOT run on the 4th of July.
What do the campers learn?
They are taught swimming stroke technique, basic diving skills, and basic trampoline skills by highly qualified instructors.
How big are the groups?
There are typically 10-15 kids per group and 2 counselors per group. This is supplemented by additional volunteer counselors as needed. We also have 3 lifeguards on duty at all times.
What do the kids do for lunch?
Children can either bring a sack lunch or money to purchase food in the food court. The kids eat their lunches inside the UM Food Court. Hurricane Aquatics provides pizza on Fridays for all campers.
How much does it cost and how do I register?
Swim Camp tuition is $275 per week. There are also multiple discounts available which can be used together to lower the cost. Please see the camp information for full explanation of discounts. You can register by following the link at the bottom of this page.
Can I sign my child up for 3 days per week or half-days of camp?
No. Swim Camp is scheduled on a week-to-week basis. Counselors are employed weekly based on the numbers of campers. You are always welcome to register your swimmer(s) for full weeks and then miss days at your loss.
